Cute Nightstand needs some help!

My parents bought up this nightstand when I mentioned I was looking for one.  I love the shape and that its wide but not too wide.  My camera battery was dead so these pictures were taken on my Iphone, haese the not great quality.  The top of the night stand is all stripped/needs work and I am thinking of getting new knobs.  The only thing is I need help deciding what I should do to this dresser!
Some ideas are listed below.

1. The picture above is of a dresser that has been stripped which I love because it brings out the natural & rustic charm. Judging from the top of my nightstand, I think it would come out pretty.

2. The dresser above was stripped then the drawers were stained a dark walnut color while the rest of the dresser was painted.  This would also be another rustic option.  I could paint the top, sides, & legs of the night stand then stain the drawers.

3. The last idea is to sand the nightstand, paint it either an off white/flat white (or really any color!), then use an antique glaze to give it some age.

What do you think?  Also do you have any other ideas?  I would love to hear them!

Wise Words

If you walked in my bedroom and/or bathroom, you would notice one thing very quickly..well something Josh had to point out to me.  That I must like typography. Currently I have #4 hanging in my bedroom and #3 I gave as a gift to a friend (I also have some of her work in my bathroom;)  Above are some typography that I am currently crushing on.

1. How can this print NOT bring you back to childhood?! Found on pinterest but believe it's from (AliMakeThings)

2.  Found on Etsy & still one of my favorite pins! (AmyRiceArt)

3. Calming print that reminds me of living by the beach. (TheLoveShop)

4. Love me some chalk prints & of course e.e. Cummings (Caravan)

5.  Type that would look good in any Bible & words to live by especially at this time. (tumblr)

6. Kitschy, fun print that is oh so true! ;) (Julia Child)

Hope everyone has a fun Friday!

Mirror,Mirror

{Display Mirror that I am hoarding ;)}

Here are some of my picks that I am in love with and have been meaning to share!  In between job hunting and interviewing, I would drive around Atlanta looking for new places to pick.  Most of these I found when my parents were visiting and one thing we enjoy doing of course is to go out thrifting and antiquing. Most of these ideas will go to my parents antique store.  Some are listed in my etsy store which you can check out here.

Remember that picture I posted with all the vintage fans? Well here is why I got so excited to run into them!  This Spartan fan is so neat!  If only it worked..
{Lunt Sterling Silver Framed Mirror}
Above is a picture of the Lunt Sterling Silver framed mirror I found along with a couple of other mirrors (one of which I am keeping;)  This Lunt mirror is made out of American Sterling Silver! You can click on any of the captions to go to my Etsy account.

{Jewelry dresser-Perfect for someone who has more jewelry than I do!}

Beautiful jewelry dresser I picked up from an Estate sale!  The top opens up so you can store more earrings and necklaces (also has a mirror attached on the inside!) it is lined with a emerald green velvet.  I can't wait for someone else to fall in love with it!

Looking forward to pick some more items!

April Showers

This past week, Atlanta has been sunny /cool, cold/windy, and gray/wet.  I am looking forward to this weekend being on the sunny/cool side of the spectrum. Above are a few items on my Pinterest that have me hoping for some Spring.

1. Any of these Science posters would make me happy. (vol25)
2.  Everything about this bathroom-subway tiles, pale blue walls, fresh flowers by the HUGE tub, and of course why not have a picture collage in the bathroom? (Bathroom Picture Collage)
3. Love the legs on this French marble side table.  This makes me want to find a great wrought-iron base and marble remnant for a DIY project. ;) (No Link found)
4. Light layers of lace, jewels and a yellow cardigan. (Perfect for this ever-changing weather going on!) (Garden Party)
5. Decoupage has been on the rise, so why not decoupage some eggs?  These would be pretty year around. (Decoupage Eggs)

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Junktiquing

{Senoia, Georgia Downtown}

This weekend we took a ride out to Senoia, Georgia which is just South of the Atlanta Airport. It may look familiar since it has been the site of many movies and T.V shows such as the new Footloose, Fried Green Tomatoes and the Walking Dead. The Hollywood film industry has also helped restore the old buildings.  There were so many people out and about probably because it was St. Patrick's day weekend and it being such a beautiful day couldn't hurt!  The Historic downtown area also has great restaurants, boutiques and well..antique shops.  One thing I also noticed is that they have many french inspired boutiques.  French style is always popular but to see so much of the style in such a small area made me wonder.  So now I will have to keep my eye out for some French inspired pieces!

{Senoia Fan Club-Too cute}
Josh made fun of me because he noticed I was not taking pictures or looking at any individual items, but how they were displayed.  I always find it interesting how other people think to display their pieces.  This store, Cydney's Alley had so many creative ideas.  All the pictures are from that store.  The picture of the fans got me excited since I just purchased an old fan myself! (Pictures soon) If you are ever in the area, I recommend taking some time out to visit!

His & Hers

{Card table with a set of chairs.}

{Gold detail Mirror}

{His & Her white iron chairs}

While home for the Holidays, my parents took me to one of their favorite consignment shops.  I would mention the name but then my parents my kill me! It's one of their favorite places to shop for their store and I can see why.  The prices are great and the owners are really nice.  The owners have been in that location for a long time and find items through Estate sales.  There are two sides to the store.  One side was pretty empty, apparently they were about to fill it with some items they got at an Estate sale.  While the other side has items stacked the the roof (as you can see in the pictures).  These are some of the items my parents picked up.  The his & her iron chairs are mine to keep!  Right now I am in the process of looking for a table and cushions.  They also need some cleaning but I am excited to see the outcome! The only problem is that I couldn't fit them on the airplane, so my parents will either be bringing them up or I will have to make a trip down. Anyways, I hope everyone has a happy Friday!

New Year, New town

"Because the things you're scared of are usually the most worthwhile."
{Old cheap Tallahassee Apartment}

{View of downtown Atlanta from my new apartment.}
After graduating in December, and right before New Years I moved into my new apartment in Atlanta. Currently look for a career in the Retail industry but in the mean time (and my spare time) I love to venture around town looking for garage sales, thrift stores, flea markets, and antique stores.  I love things that inspire me and fit my personally and this blog is my way of documenting just that.  This blog is for all the Pretty Young Pickers.
