Bedroom Reveal

Remember this bedroom mood board
When Josh and I moved into our rental a year(!!) ago, I knew I wanted a room that was warm, cozy and romantic. Its hard to design a room when there is a boy involved who has an opinion, so I had to keep his taste in mind (lucky its pretty good;)

Finally the bedroom is complete!  The color scheme of blues, golds, and grays mix well with all of the new/old/redesigned pieces  you can see the reveal below:

In the VERY left corner, is the lingerie chest which I have had forever, well actually my mom has. I 'borrowed/stole' it from her back in high school, but I love it to much to give back. Many of the accessories were found from garage sales/antique stores; antlers(not shown), coyote skull, clock and hat holder to name a few.

Love the way the bedroom turned out. I think Josh does too, besides his comment about hanging the artwork on the dresser and that we have too many pillows. My question is, how can someone have TOO many pillows? ;)

Headboard Makeover

Remember this 70's style headboard I picked up from an estate sale a while back?  Well I finally finished it!  I knew I wanted to paint it a light gray, so I went with a sample size (yes you read that right!) of Behr's Light French Gray, which was the perfect color!  It's a light gray but has hints of blue hues.  First, I added some 6 inch table legs to give the headboard some height.  Next I sandpapered the headboard which afterwards I put the first coat of the paint. After the second coat dried, I took some fine steel wool and went over the whole headboard.  The steel wool added a darker gray tone but did not distress it as much as I wanted, so I used some sandpaper. The great thing about distressing, is the less perfect it is the better!  So after all that, below is the finished results:

Hope you like it!  And can't wait to show everyone the finished bedroom.

Pillow Fights

I'm not sure what it is about pillows, but I love them! Probably because I have a certain place in my heart for things that are soft and cozy (hence why I love cashmere sweaters and cats;) Here are just a few pillows I have my eyes on!  Check out my inspiration for my bedroom here.

Sweet Dreams

The past couple of weeks have been pretty crazy!  Josh and I have been looking at places to rent because we have to be out of our current apartment at the end of September.  Luckily, we recently (aka got the lease today) for a CUTE little house close to downtown Decatur. :)  With this in mind, I have been dreaming up how I would want our bedroom to look. Pretty much I have been searching all the homegood stores as well as my favorite blogs pretending I am actually (and can afford) to make my master bedroom design happen!  But if money wasn't an issue, it would look something like my mood board below. P.S.- You can click on the board to view a larger version.

I wanted something rustic and soft, with touches of new and old.  As much as I don't think I am that feminine, I do find myself attracted to more curvy/pretty lines, so I thought to keep the color palette more neutral. Bold bedding will be the main focus.  A neutral grey headboard will help bring even more attention to the bed.  I love rooms that aren't too overly decorated so I want to mix different textures and patterns (like the floral design with stripes) and mix new furniture with some of my garage sale finds.

1. Pillow and Comforter set from World Market
2. Rug from Rug USA
3. Headboard from Wayfair
4. Grey sheet set from Dwell Studio
5. Table Lamp from Target

Well one can dream!
